Introduction to the GEM/Matthew 25 Immigrant Relief Fund (en Español)

The purpose of the Immigrant Relief Fund (IRF) is to serve and support immigrant neighbors who are unable to access adequate public and community resources to meet critical personal or family needs. We are operating as a ministry of Gorge Ecumenical Ministries, in partnership with Matthew 25 of the Gorge, with a leadership team representing multiple faith communities in Hood River.

The following assistance priorities have been identified:

  • Legal support for immigration (Residency, DACA, asylum)
  • Transportation needs (license and registration, insurance)
  • Housing support (utilities, rent, deposits)

As we launch and build this fund, we are beginning only with referrals from local churches and select community organizations.

We ask that the referring church or organization accompany the person in need through the application process, preparing and submitting the form on their behalf.

You may submit the form either online (preferred) or mail a printed copy to:

As we refine the IRF program we ask that you do not share this link, but use it only with those who contact your church or organization directly with critical needs noted above. Our plan is to continue to assess our processes, the level of need in our Gorge community, and our capacity to assist with the needs of those who are currently falling through the gaps in our existing community resources.
