Doug Swanson has lived in the Columbia Gorge for 40 years. He originally moved to White Salmon in 1983 for his job as a State Trooper. Doug became a member of one of Spirit of Grace’s predecessor bodies (Our Redeemer Lutheran) when he first moved here. He has been a consistent presence throughout the transformation into a dual-denomination congregation. He has been retired for a year and a half and is looking for more ways to live out his life-long values of community care and support. Doug grew up in the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout, and served as the president of the Lions Club in White Salmon for a time. In his spare time, he enjoys some light hiking and fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
